I initially planned to stay at Ranjana for 1 night only but stayed 3 and would have stayed even longer if i could. I really enjoyed every minute there from the warm welcome, to delicious homemade food from Tara’s hard or local produce. If you’re interested in know-how, like I was, Tara let me peek my nose into the kitchen as well as explaining the coffee making process. Another highlight was popping my yoga mat in the morning between two sacred Ficus trees with Annapurna view and watching the rise as exercising and meditating! If you are after a quiet retreat in a peaceful family environment full of warmth and kindness, you’ve found your spot.
I stayed with Ram and Tara, their lovely kids and Ram’s parents for two weeks in July 2014. The house with it’s beautiful surroundings is one of the most magical and relaxing places I know on this planet. It is basically a five star mountain lodge, I didn’t miss anything!
Tara is an awesome cook and can do everything. Dal ghat in countless tasty variations and awesome cinnamon pancakes with fresh leaves from the garden! Ram also does his best to keep his guests entertained and is always super nice and helpful.
My stay with the family allowed me a glimpse into Nepali life which I will never forget, thank you very much for being so welcoming! I hope to return some day.
